Guided by our values of safety in every step, personal accountability, one team and active learning, we deliver the critical energy that North America and the world rely on while balancing reliability, affordability and sustainability.The OpportunityOur Rideau Area Operations Team is currently seeking an Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Technician to join our team based at our compressor station in Pembroke or Stittsville, ON.Reporting to the Rideau Operations Area Manager, this EIC Controls Technician will operate and maintain natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment (including assigned electronic, electrical, pneumatic and/or mechanical control systems, devices, and ancillary equipment gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, boilers, fuel gas compressors, and PLC & DCS control systems) in a manner which meets operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. In this role, you will also be required to perform tasks from other disciplines.Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; Friday offWeek 2 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; 8 hours on Friday What you’ll doPerform installation, testing, repair, and maintenance on compressor station equipment, and other facilities relevant to the pipeline system as requiredConduct routine regular maintenance on gas turbine packages, gas compressor units and associated auxiliary equipmentTroubleshoot, test, & maintain shutdown devices, fire & gas systems, auxiliary systems, HVAC systems, relief and Over Pressure Protection devices, control valves, PLC’s & control systemsInstall & configure software in control systemsPerform emergency repairs to meet customer and client needsEnsure facilities and personnel comply with TC Energy's Community, Safety and Environment policies and procedures as well as accepted risk standardsLead/manage the safe and efficient completion of low to medium complexity projects with effective work management practices such as time management, work sequencing, and contractor oversightRead and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, P&IDs, etc.Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new work orders, etc. in SAPComplete core operational task qualifications required to perform job tasksSupervise and coordinate third party contractorsProvide coaching, mentoring, and training to other personnelDemonstrate safety leadershipCollaborate and support our business partners as requiredRespond to emergency situationsMinimum QualificationsCompletion or anticipated completion (May 2026) of a trades program or technical training from a recognized institution (i.e. Electrical, Instrumentation, etc.)Experience interpreting technical reference documents and reading drawingsMust possess and maintain a valid driver's licenseMust have a proven safe driving record and provide documentation of past traffic violations upon request, as well as maintain a valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications2 or more years of experience troubleshooting, testing, maintaining, installing, repairing, and operating mechanical equipment such as compressors, auxiliary engines, cooling equipment, valves, pumps, fittings, scrubbers, filters, electric motors, etc.SAP experiencePrevious experience with high pressure natural gasCurrent with technological advances in the compression fieldHave and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract for reviewSuccessfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testingTravel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home (estimated up 15% of work schedule)Be part of an on-call rotation and provide emergency support as requiredAbout our businessWe are a leader in North American energy infrastructure, spanning Canada, the U.S. and Mexico.
