Working collaboratively with the Aquatics and CYF Programs Director, the role provides leadership in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs such as sports, dance, karate, and youth leadership, ensuring alignment with YMCA standards and the Y Way service framework. The supervisor recruits, trains, and supports staff and volunteers, fostering a positive and accountable team culture focused on safety, quality, and member experience. The position also manages program budgets, monitors performance, and ensures compliance with operational, health, and safety requirements. In this role, you will: Develop, monitor, and manage Child and Youth Family (CYF) program budgets to ensure fiscal accountability for revenues and expenses and alignment with the centre’s financial targets. Lead the planning, promotion, staffing, administration, and delivery of March Break and Winter Camps to ensure safe, engaging, and high-quality experiences that meet YMCA standards. Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate programs using YMCA standards, including but not limited to soccer, basketball, karate, dance, youth leadership, Teen Night, and leagues, ensuring quality, safety, and age-appropriate experiences while providing direct program delivery when required. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and supervise YMCA staff and volunteers, providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and recognition to foster a positive and high-performing team culture. Ensure all staff complete mandatory onboarding, quarterly, and annual training, maintaining accurate records and compliance with YMCA training requirements. Conduct regular program audits to ensure compliance with YMCA standards, including Safeguarding Children and Youth, health and safety, and program quality, taking corrective actions where needed and reporting outcomes to the Director. Oversee scheduling, workforce planning, and payroll preparation to ensure adequate coverage and accuracy of timecards within budget parameters. Strengthen community partnerships by collaborating with schools, organizations, and other YMCAs to expand program reach, participation, and impact. Maintain strong relationships with participants and families to create a welcoming and inclusive environment and respond to feedback and concerns using the Y Way service framework. Support the staff team in the role of Service Leader by promoting positive member experiences using the Y Way framework and fostering relationships with participants and families. Perform other duties as assigned. You bring: Post-secondary education in Recreation Leadership, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience. Standard First Aid and CPR required. Current certifications or qualifications in the following preferred: Coaching certification (any sport), Healthy Child Development, High Five. Minimum of 2 years of experience delivering Child and Youth programs. Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience preferred. Previous experience in the development and implementation of new programs is an asset. Knowledge and understanding of physical literacy and child development. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail, and proficiency in computer applications and a willingness to learn new computer programs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with members, staff, and volunteers from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrates strong leadership skills to motivate, coach, and develop staff and volunteers, and acknowledge and appreciate contributions; fostering a positive and accountable team culture. Excellent written communication skills. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Ability to speak multiple languages an asset. Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design.
