Overview As a key member of the team, the Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring all reporting and compliance requirements are met. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Members and internal teams to provide reliable bookkeeping support that adds measurable value to their businesses.More than just balancing numbers, you will help create peace of mind by keeping accounts precise, records organized, and compliance on track—allowing our members to focus on running their businesses with confidence, knowing their finances are in trusted hands.Key ResponsibilitiesT1 preparation for clients ranging from slip only returns to self-employed individualsTrack and maintain accurate books for assigned Members, which includes posting journal entries and ensuring accounts are accurately balanced.Accurately calculate source deductions in compliance with current regulations.Collaborate with internal staff to answer Member inquiries related to bookkeeping.Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.Assist in preparing information required for corporate and personal tax filingsManage client onboarding processes for new accounts.Act as a trusted point of contact for Members regarding their bookkeeping needs and recordsOther relevant duties as requiredWhat You Will BringEducation and Experience2+ years of experience with Xero, iFirm is an asset 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping (preferred)Diploma in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Business, or equivalent hands-on experience in accounting is considered an asset.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesProficient using accounting software, ideally Xero or QuickBooks OnlineStrong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high quality and accurate work.Basic Understanding of Accounting Principles/Tax ServicesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven ability to manage time effectively, and balance multiple priorities to meet deadlines.Excellent customer service skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.Other RequirementsThis role may require occasional travelWhat We Offer / Why FBC?At FBC, we’re committed to helping you grow into the best version of yourself—whether that’s mastering your craft or leveling up your career.
