With a strong foundation within the community and a focus on connection, unity, and compassion, the organization provides a vital link for youth and families in the province of Manitoba.SUMMARY: The Link requires an experienced Healing Home Supervisor for a full time position in our Kookum's Healing Home. The Supervisor coordinates and assists with the daily business operations nurturing an organizational culture in our work environment that promotes alignment with our organizational performance goals, our espoused organizational core values, and our strategic drivers of becoming youth-centric, a center of excellence and building culturally safe services and programs. They do this through thoughtful leadership and effective mentorship of staff as they work to support the youth to engage in healthy activities and develop their own positive, trauma-informed, strength-based philosophy. In addition, the supervisor is responsible for collaborating across various systems to ensure that outcomes are in the best interest of the youth in various programs and align with the overall mission and purpose of the program. The Supervisor must work from a person-centered, non-judgmental, trauma-informed, strength-based perspective.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: of the Healing Home Supervisor include, but are not limited to:In consultation and collaboration with the Leadership and Operational teams, the Healing Home Supervisor coordinates and implements strategies, plans, programs, projects, tools, data and reports.Implements annual and operational plans to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment with the goals of the organization.Ensures accountability to achieve the strategic directions of the organization.Motivates, leads and supervises the team members in order to achieve the aims of the organization.Coordinates and maintains reporting expectations for the program.Represents The Link: Youth and Family Supports both externally as well as internally.Participates in hiring and interviewing of staff within the program.Promotes and complies with various legislations (i.e. Workplace Safety and Health Act, adhering to Public Health Orders (COVID-19), Human Rights Act, Department of Families Licensing Standards).Promotes and liaises with the external environment to determine the future needs and direction of the program.The Healing Home Supervisor will be responsible for the performance and attendance management of staff.Ensures casework is based on the program purpose statement.Implements program policies.Prepares and works within a budget for the program.Undertakes new endeavors based on community and organizational needs - i.e. The Link database and other modernization initiatives.Networks with community resources and addresses external requests.Attends team meetings and training as required.Other duties as requested.QUALIFICATIONS:The successful candidate should demonstrate the following competencies, which incorporate the Seven Sacred Teachings- Love, Respect, Courage, Honesty, Wisdom, and Humility & Truth.Essential RequirementsPost-secondary education in Human Services or a combination of education, work experience and lived experience may be consideredFive (5) years of progressive related experience working with families in a supportive mannerFive (5) years of leadership experience, leading teams and programsBeing on call is a requirement for this roleDemonstrated understanding and appreciation for issues and concerns of Indigenous peoples within a child welfare environmentAbility to handle sensitive situations and confidential information in a multi-disciplinary team environmentEffective problem-solving ability and strong communication skillsExperience working with vulnerable children and youth with an array of behavioral needsStrong counseling skills and experience in Relational Care, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skillsThe ability to work independently and as a part of a teamPerson-focused crisis resolution and clinical counseling experienceBusiness management and public relations training preferred, but not requiredKnowledge of systems for children in care, school, family functioning and child welfare preferredExcellent analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to adapt to changing circumstances or conditions with flexibility and compassionKnowledge of strength-based philosophy and knowledge of Indigenous culture and language preferredFirst Aid/CPR Level CSatisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry Check with acceptable Prior Contact Check outcomes and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check; all completed within the last 3 monthsPreferred or willing to obtain within the first 3 (three) monthsASIST Certificate (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and/or any de-escalation training preferred;Mental Health First Aid & Safe Talk;The Link Commit 2 Kids Training;Certification in either DLE (The Purposeful Use of Daily Life Events) or TCS (Therapeutic Crisis Solutions).Accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities upon request.
