Distribution Engineer Reports to: Engineering Manager Department: Engineering Location: On-Site, Acton ON Employment Type: Full-Time Position Summary Halton Hills Hydro is searching for a Distribution Engineer who will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of the electrical distribution system. This position is highly technical and design-focused, responsible for system analysis, engineering design, and infrastructure planning to support both operational and capital programs. The role requires strong expertise in system modeling, analysis, and design, coupled with an ability to provide subject-matter expertise and guidance to the organization. Key Responsibilities Conduct system analysis including load flow, short circuit, and relay coordination studies to assess system performance and identify areas for improvement. Develop engineering plans and designs for new distribution systems, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and efficiency standards. Perform load forecasting and infrastructure planning to accommodate system growth and emerging technologies. Utilize CYME software to model the distribution network and simulate various operating scenarios. Provide technical expertise for system troubleshooting and ensure reliable operations. Support project management activities and coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders as needed. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and company policies.
