Description :Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business Partner and Senior LeaderCollaborate and partner with key business stakeholders on complex transactions and growth opportunities, specifically on complex, high-value customer service and supply contracts in key industries of mining, power systems and construction.Collaborate and partner with key business stakeholders on complex and high value regional and global procurement contracts.In collaboration with the Associate General Counsel, advise and support in other key areas of business operations, which may include:Technology – legal support on key digital and information technology opportunitiesLitigation Management – provide guidance on legal and insurance claims; manage external counselCommercial Real Estate – including support of buying, selling and leasing strategies and transactionsPrivacy and Cyber Security – including collaborating with regional Associate General Counsels and external counsel to ensure compliance with applicable privacy and data security obligations and best practicesEnvironment, Health & Safety – including supporting compliance, policy development and overseeing workplace investigationsEmployment – including providing support on employment contracts, investigations and policy development, human rights and labour mattersProvide other support to General Counsel and Associate General Counsel as may be required in a dynamic regulatory environment.Lead and manage direct and indirect reports – mentor legal counsel and legal support staff, efficient delegation and oversight of legal work.Education and ExperienceLaw degree and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta, and eligibility to practice throughout Finning Canada’s territoryMinimum 10 years of legal experience in a business setting with proven expertise in complex transactions, compliance, and strategic and commercial acumenStrong understanding of legislation, case law, and regulatory requirementsExceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrated leadership, influence, and change management capabilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentStrong attention to detail and sound judgment in decision-makingCommitment to providing practical, business-focused legal advice aligned with company policiesAbility to maintain accurate legal records and uphold ethical standardsProfessional representation of the organization and protection of its reputationAt Finning, we prioritize creating a diverse and inclusive environment.
