🏭 Production Supervisor - All LocationsWe are seeking a Production Supervisor to take responsibility for the safe, high-quality, and cost-effective achievement of the production schedule to fulfill commitments to customers, employees, and suppliers. Responsibilities📋The Production Supervisor's duties include, but are not limited to, the following key deliverables:Supervision of Production for Production Line (30%):Supervision of the entire production for the production line(s).Providing guidance, direction, and coordinating daily workflow of production line staff.Supervising, coaching, and mentoring employees to meet safety, quality, production, and cost requirements.Scheduling staff and approving vacation, time off, and overtime.Conducting performance reviews, providing formal and informal feedback, and addressing performance concerns.Developing a positive workplace environment and culture characterized by good teamwork and constructive communication.Cost and Productivity Management (30%):Ensuring lines meet daily production targets and adjusting for staffing, WIP, overtime, and equipment downtime.Coordinating Production Capacity scheduling and planning.Tracking key production metrics to control operating expenses within budget.Completing reporting and documentation requirements accurately and on time.Implementing Continuous Improvement Processes, Projects, Techniques (10%):Proposing continuous improvement projects to increase the overall performance of the production lines being supervised; carrying out approved projects.Initiating and facilitating projects to resolve the root causes of production issues.Developing and maintaining standards of work practices and ensuring compliance.Quality Management Control (10%):Establishing, monitoring, and adjusting quality controls and documentation for each production line.Providing timely feedback and corrective action when defects are identified.Facilitating resolution of quality issues and having the authority to shut down a production line for quality reasons.Protecting equipment, intellectual assets (technology, processes, design specifications, etc) (10%):Protecting and securing company assets including trade secrets such as information about work methods, equipment, materials, process documentation, computer programs, performance date, etc.Keeping process documentation up to date and ensure workers fully understand and consistently follow officially established work practices.Undertaking counts of material, inventory month- and year-end support.Safety, Housekeeping, and Environment (10%):Taking all precautions necessary to protect the health and safety of every worker under supervision.Ensuring workers are informed of all hazards and properly use personal protective equipment.Following the company's health and safety management system, including conducting safety talks.Maintaining good housekeeping within the responsible work area.Qualifications🎓 What you need to succeed: Required Education and ExperienceA high school diploma or GED is required.Ability to maintain accuracy of information while engaged in both repetitive and non-repetitive work is required.Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook) is required.Certification in Safety Leadership is required (training provided if necessary).Preferred Skills and Assets:Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Team Leader or other supervisory experience in a large-scale manufacturing/production environment is preferred.Post-secondary education in a related area is an asset.Lean Manufacturing Knowledge/Skills are an asset.Knowledge and experience with Quality Standards for production lines and glass is an asset.Standard First Aid certification would be a definite asset.Critical competencies include Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, Accountability, Planning/Prioritizing, and AdaptabilitySummaryReady to lead a fantastic team and make a real impact?If you are passionate about production, quality, and leadership, we encourage you to apply todayHow to Apply:Directly to this ad or email your resume to renee.paul@randstad.ca.Randstad Canada is committed to fostering a workforce reflective of all peoples of Canada.
