Join OPG and make history. Whether you work in the skilled trades or are a business professional, a career at OPG is an opportunity to electrify your life on -- and off -- the job.  JOB OVERVIEW Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Software Engineer. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering, this position is responsible for designing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting control computer systems within a nuclear facility. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES  Designing, maintaining, monitoring, and troubleshooting control computer systems in a nuclear facilityImplementing software modifications using both high level (C/C++/Python/.NET) and low-level (assembly, machine code) languagesEmbedded system design and integration of hardware and software componentsDevelopment of computer system requirements and associated documentation in accordance with the Engineering Change Control (ECC) processApplication of cyber security best practices in computing systems related modifications in the stationDevelopment of comprehensive design documentation, technical specifications, plans, procedures, user manuals, reports, guidelines, and other technical documentation for systems involving computer systemsExecution of test procedures and authoring technical reportsValidation and verification of software designs (code review, configuration testing, subsystem testing, etc.) on simulation and test environmentsMaintaining and upgrading site computer labs, support tools, and test jigsWorking with digital controller programming/codingWorking with Nuclear software program governanceAttend meetings, conferences, and required trainingOther duties as required  QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Software/Electrical engineering or Computer Science is required; a P.Eng designation would be an asset.Minimum 2 years experience in a computer engineering or equivalent roleExperience working with various software systems such as C/C++/Python/AssemblyExperience in Varian Assembly language programming would be an assetExcellent time management skills and ability to work as a team playerExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCandidate must be a fully licensed engineer in the province of Ontario, or be eligible to be licensed in the Province of Ontario The successful candidate will exhibit uncompromising integrity and commitment to upholding corporate values, and the OPG Code of Business Conduct. OPG is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment.
