Maintain current Heart Save Level of CPR. Have current certification with either a Long-term Care – Certificate in Infection Prevention (LTC-CIP) or Certificate in Infection Control (CIC) through Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC), or willing to obtain in 12 months. Act as a Specialist Leader pertaining to all aspects of infection prevention and control, including but not limited to outbreak management, auditing, infection surveillance, continuous quality improvement, etc. Support the delivery of IPAC education to all team members, caregivers, volunteers, students, visitors, and residents. Understand the IPAC protocol and maintain up to date knowledge of the regulations specific to infection control. Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members. Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the Assistant Director of Nursing Care role. Work with the interdisciplinary team to ensure implementation of the IPAC program across all program areas. It would be an asset if our new IPAC - Assistant Director of Nursing Care ADNC RPN has: Knowledge of relevant policies, procedures, legislation and regulations applicable to the long-term care sector, including the Fixing Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2021 and Health & Safety. Three (3) years of experience leading and directing department(s) in a healthcare setting Education and Experience in IPAC practices including: infectious disease, cleaning, disinfecting, data collection, trend analysis, outbreak management, reporting protocol, asepsis, microbiology, epidemiology, program management & adult education or willing to complete an IPAC Canada endorsed or sponsored course. Experience working in a Long-Term Care setting.
