SharePoint Business Analyst Back to All Jobs [social_share] Our client requires a business analyst for a major SharePoint Online migration initiative. Key activities include gathering business requirements, defining information architecture, and modernizing legacy SharePoint 2016 sites utilizing Microsoft 365 tools, specifically involving Power Apps and Power Automate for custom application development. Responsibilities include providing information management and technical support, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring the successful transitioning of content and migration services in alignment with corporate policies and project deliverables. Resource will work remotely however in the event of an onsite meeting resource must be available. Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time. Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues. Resource is responsible to pay for travel to on-site meetings. Edmonton, Alberta (Remote within Canada) Responsibilities Duties Include: Provide IMT support, guidance, and coordination for all supported systems and services, including analyzing and managing Microsoft Active Directory and file system security changes related to organizational restructuring. Lead stakeholder consultations and facilitate meetings to create comprehensive business requirements, functional specifications, and technical requirements documentation. Utilize project management methodology and governance tools to manage resources, escalate risks/issues, and ensure effective project delivery aligned with IMT operational standards and best practices. Design, develop, and maintain custom modern SharePoint Online solutions and business applications using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate). Document technical recommendations and provide expert technical advice and guidance to management and project teams, maintaining quality control on all production implementations. Review new service and technology requests to assess operational impact, communicate operational guidelines and policies to clients, and recommend solutions for remediation Mandatory Requirements Must meet or exceed one of the following: University graduation in business, management or a related discipline and five-year Technical Business Analyst (BA) experience; OR Two-year diploma in business, management or a related discipline and six-year BA experience; OR One-year certificate in business, management or a related discipline and seven-year BA experience; OR Eight-year BA experience 5 years’ experience with complex SharePoint projects including solutions depending on: managed metadata, workflows, forms, and user interface customization. 5 years’ experience as a business analyst translating business requirements into detailed technical requirements in an enterprise IT, and content management environments. 5 years’ experience as a project coordinator leading technical teams in multiple implementation and execution of information technology projects in a large scale enterprise environment (preferably public sector) 5 years’ experience defining project scope and goals in collaboration with business stakeholders. 5 years’ experience in gathering requirements from a diverse group of stakeholders across ministries or departments. 5 years’ experience with the development, integration, and support of Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online. 5 years’ experience in developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements with varying enterprise content management systems. Desirable Requirements 4 years’ experience in analyzing process maps, descriptions, and data flow diagrams of complex business processes to understand records that are produced 3 years’ experience in the design, development and implementation of complex IT solutions. 4 years’ experience in the development of project documents for a wide variety of initiatives and projects (strategic, business improvement, information technology, etc.). 3 years’ experience with IT service management, IT service management applications, IT application development and maintenance projects. 4 years’ experience working on projects with changing priorities, timelines, or requirements. Experience with any of the following technologies is an asset: Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, Microsoft Active Directory (AD), Microsoft File System Security, SharePoint Designer workflows, InfoPath / Nintex forms
