Essential Duties of this Opportunity: Responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, brakes and other basic components Will work on forklifts, tractor trailers, and miscellaneous equipment Must work well and communicate effectively with operators and other mechanics Must also be able to work alone or with limited assistance Creative thinking skills to make continuous improvements Reports to Service Manager Standard Hours: Day shift 7am to 3:30pm QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will possess the following qualities and safety tickets: CSTS 2020A valid Licensed Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician Certificate CVIP Tech LicenseCSTS First AidValid driver's license with a clean commercial abstractH2S AliveCSOFirst AidAbility to communicate and interact effectivelyAbility to remain alert and maintain a high level of concentrationGood interpersonal skills and customer service orientationTime management skillsMaintain good, accurate, paperworkGood judgement and the ability to react quickly in emergency situationsUnderstands the operations and limitations of the equipmentMechanical ability to make minor repairs when needed Experience:Experience with Heavy Haul trucks with Cummins/Detroit diesel engines and platform trailers is an asset. Apprentices will be consideredPrevious experience working with heavy haul trucks and trailerWork Environment: Primarily shop-based, with some potential for field work. Must have own tools
