We are seeking a full-time, permanent Manager of Strategy Management for the Strategic Solutions and Partnerships Department. The Manager of Strategy is accountable for leading strategic projects and initiatives derived from VHA’s strategic priorities for 2025-2030.


Key Areas of Accountability

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategy & Business Development, the Manager will be heavily involved in developing, implementing, evaluating and improving the daily operations of the Office Strategy Management (OSM) within the organization. This role will focus on co-designing and implementing tools and methodologies to monitor, evaluate and report on the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with senior leadership, while ensuring organization-wide alignment to VHA’s purpose, priorities and guiding principles of our strategy plan 2025-2030. The incumbent will work with cross-functional teams across VHA (including frontline staff) to drive engagement and ensure successful strategy implementation, while proactively identifying strategic and project-related risks and corresponding mitigation strategies.

This role will enhance the reputation of its department and organization, consistent with VHA’s vision, mission and core beliefs of services as well as building and supporting sustainable and productive public relations with clients and VHA staff and partners.

Required Qualification

  • Minimum 2+ years of strategic planning, execution and/or corporate portfolio management experience.

  • Minimum 2+ years in progressive, change leadership responsibilities, preferably in home and community health.

  • Relevant university degree (Masters preferred) in related health care discipline, Health Administration or Business Administration, preferred.

  • Proven expertise in project management principles and methodologies and experience developing and managing cross-functional teams on large-budget, cross-disciplinary and complex project portfolio by setting priorities, project and individual workplans, communicating values, strategies, expectations, and promoting an engaged and inclusive environment.

  • Excellent BI data analysis skills to provide strategic, evidence-based advice/recommendations to teams and leaders as appropriate, and identify errors in reports for large sets of data for a large organization.

  • Demonstrated self-directed ability to meet or exceed performance targets and key strategic deliverables.

  • Ability to coordinate and lead consultation/advisory meetings and committees related to strategic initiatives with relevant stakeholders, partners and consultants as appropriate.

  • Ability to build and maintain networks and partnerships by using negotiation, interpersonal, diplomatic, facilitation and consensus building skills.

  • Demonstrates effective communications and interpersonal skills to provide guidance to a team and advise partners and leaders.

  • Ability to think critically and act strategically, but also be willing to roll up the sleeves and put strategies and plans into motion.

  • Develop and recommend evidence-based program or service delivery options, and best operational practices and standards, to better achieve VHA’s strategy plan.

  • Demonstrated client-centered and customer-focused philosophy.

  • Expert proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Powerpoint, Word); commonly used virtual platforms and tools in healthcare (Zoom, Outlook, MS Teams, Mural).
