Delivery & Shop Technician (Home Health Care)

The Delivery & Shop Technician is responsible for maintaining customer service standards through a safe and efficient operation while adhering to Company policies, procedures, and standards. The role involves ensuring that client products are delivered in an organized, timely, and safe manner, as well as assisting in the operation of the shop and service area effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain positive customer relations through the proper handling of merchandise, questions, comments, requests, and complaints.
  • Work effectively in a team environment in a proficient and friendly manner.
  • Perform duties in an organized manner with accuracy and attention to detail while maintaining confidentiality of information. Coordinate deliveries and repairs to ensure work is done within established deadlines.
  • Assist the supervisor to ensure the service department operates in accordance with company policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to the supervisor regarding recommendations for continued improvement of operations.
  • Upon delivery, conduct a demonstration with the client on the proper use of the product, conduct technical repairs of equipment, and assemble new equipment, assisting with the installation of stair, porch, and ceiling lifts as per manufacturers’ specifications, guidelines, and warranty programs.
  • Assist the supervisor in overseeing the maintenance of company vehicles, rental equipment, and the cleanliness of the service department.
  • Establish and maintain a strong, efficient, and productive working relationship with approved professionals, business organizations, and internal/external company representatives.
  • Accurately and efficiently handle the delivery, setup, and billing of merchandise, inventory control, price integrity, quotes, and all administrative areas not specifically referred to in this document.
  • Act as a liaison and public relations representative for the company within the communities served.
  • Assist in ordering products and supplies, and conduct inventory.
  • Adhere to all government and professional standards and regulations as applicable to the Home Health Care Industry.
  • Ensure daily functions are carried out in an organized and efficient manner.
  • Provide training to new delivery and service technicians and report on their training progress as required.
  • Participate in developing yearly competency performance work plans and development action plans.
  • Provide leadership in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) initiatives, ensuring compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and legislation, and addressing unsafe situations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Grade 12 education or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Insurable drivers abstract.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Professional trade designation.
  • One year mechanical service experience.
  • Knowledge of city streets.
  • Previous customer service experience.
