About the Role

An Account Manager at Operatic Agency is critical to driving client growth, building client relationships, and ensuring the successful delivery of a positive ROI for our clients. Reporting to an Account Director, the Account Manager will play a supportive role in developing client marketing strategies and growing client accounts. You'll also maintain organizational and operational systems (note-taking, contact reports, status reports, project briefs, SOWs and estimates/underpinning, financial tracking and work-back schedules).

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating a marketing strategy and delivering exceptional results in a dynamic agency environment.

What You'll Be DoingClient Ownership
  • Proactively learn about their clients and their brands, markets and competitors to become a trusted strategic resource.
  • Understand client objectives and contribute to strategic marketing plans that deliver a positive ROI for our clients and agency.
  • Conduct desk research to understand audience traits and behaviours that guide recommendations.
  • Create clear, comprehensive briefs to ensure team alignment with client objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of client projects.
  • Maintain concise and accurate notes, contact reports, status reports and financial tracking.
  • Create and maintain up-to-date work-back schedules.
  • Monitor campaign performance and provide regular and insightful reports to clients, outlining key opportunities for growth and demonstrating the value of our work.
  • QA all client deliverables to ensure market-leading work that aligns with client objectives.
  • Manage client communication and build client relationships.
  • Develop and deliver clear, insightful presentations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Grow accounts and generate new opportunities through solid results, the creation of case studies, the generation of testimonials and referrals, relationship building and networking.
Technical Expert
  • Basic understanding of marketing and brand strategy, analytics, CMS (e.g. Veeva), UX, SEO, localization of global assets, digital and traditional advertising, and social media.
  • Continually stay informed about marketing/advertising/technology best practices to improve personal and agency-wide capabilities.
  • Use data-driven insights to improve client ROI and identify opportunities for account growth.
  • A desire to learn about the Canadian pharmaceutical industry and the nuances of advertising within healthcare.
Process Implementation & Improvement
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to deliver a positive ROI for clients while maintaining agency profitability.
  • Ensure implementation of operational systems, which include creating and maintaining notes, contact reports, status reports, project briefs, SOWs and estimates/underpinning, financial tracking and work-back schedules.
  • Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and client expectations, aligning with the vision, mission and values of the agency.
  • Proactively address client concerns to maintain high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
What You'll Bring to the Role
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience as an Account Manager or equivalent in a dynamic agency environment.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to independently execute with minimal supervision in a fast-paced agency environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and proactively provide innovative solutions to client challenges.
  • A drive to develop range by learning new skills that expand your expertise.
Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Regulatory Bodies such as the PAAB, Ad Standards Canada, and Health Canada.
  • Familiarity with internal project and resource management software (e.g., Forecast).
  • Certifications in project management or account management (e.g. PMP, AMI).
  • Experience overseeing and managing digital products (i.e. web development).
  • Experience or certifications in email marketing, SEO, SEM, Google Analytics.
