We currently have an opportunity available for a temporary full time Employee Relations Associate until approximately March 31, 2025
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, Hybrid Work Environment
How Employee Relations Associate support our teams at Grand River Hospital:
The Employee Relations Associate reports to the Manager, Employee and Labour Relations. The successful candidate will provide effective administrative support to the Employee Relations team by inputting and updating grievances into databases and running reports, creating grievance files, agendas, minute taking and action items for grievances, labour management and disability management meetings.
The Employee Relations Associate will coordinate meetings as required, assist with grievance, labour management and employee corrective action responses.
The successful incumbent will also assist with compiling files for legal counsel, composing letters, processing union leave requests and assisting with research into grievances. They will compile and publish seniority lists as well as running audit reports and other regularly required reports. There will be additional project work as required.
At Grand River Hospital, the Employee Relations Associate:
- 2-3 years’ experience in human resources, preferably in a healthcare setting required.
- 1-year experience in employee relations preferred.
- Certificate in HR program or related post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and relevant human resources experience required.
- Confirmed superior customer service, administrative and communication skills are essential.
- Keen attention to detail
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong minute taking and typing skills
- Familiarity with an HRIS system is preferred
- Detail-oriented and able to respond positively to change.
- Ability to work through continuous disruptions
- Able to work both independently and as a member of a team.
