The Permitting Lead will ensure that the site regulatory closure plans are updated, approved and maintained. In addition to closure plans, the role will ensure other permits (ex: Environmental Compliance Approvals) are established or updated to meet closure execution needs.

Lead the approval process of regulatory Kidd Operations Closure Plans including updates and amendments to the plans.

• Prepare permit applications, notice of material changes for approvals required for closure execution.
• In liaison with the Environmental Department, update and/or acquire any Environmental permits required for closure.
• Support Project Director and other senior leadership with Land Management
• Support sites with regulatory and internal reporting.
• Management of consultants and working with other subject matter experts as required for permit and closure plan amendments.
• Preparation of proposals and cost estimations
• Support and participate in engagement with regulators and other external stakeholders as required for permit approvals.
• Support Project Managers with the coordination and oversight of field work and construction, site investigations, studies and design work required for progressive rehabilitation and closure execution planning.

• College or university degree in the fields of engineering, science or related disciplines.
• 5+ years in relevant mining experience:
• Mine closure planning
• Environmental Coordinator or related positions in mining
• Supporting permitting processes
• Good oral and written communication skills
