IT Help Desk Student
Temporary Contract, 4 Months from Start Date
Onsite– Scarborough ON

Purpose
As an IT Helpdesk Summer Student, you will work closely with our IT Helpdesk team to provide technical assistance to employees, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure a positive experience for our users. Under the guidance of our IT team lead, you’ll gain practical skills in IT support and contribute to our team’s efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Assist in providing technical support to employees, including helping resolve basic hardware, software, and network issues.
  • User Assistance: Support team members in setting up systems, installing software, and conducting basic training sessions.
  • Ticket Management: Collaborate with the IT Helpdesk team to manage support requests in our ticketing system, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.
  • Inventory Assistance: Help maintain and update IT asset inventory, prepare hardware for deployment, and organize inventory.
  • Documentation: Contribute to support documentation, ensuring troubleshooting steps and solutions are clearly recorded.
  • Project Support: Assist with IT projects such as system upgrades, software rollouts, and compliance audits.
  • Security Practices: Follow and promote best practices for data protection and help raise security awareness among employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Skills, Experience and Education:
  • University or College student currently enrolled full-time in a degree or diploma program
  • Knowledge of SQL Server and Reporting Services (SSRS)
  • Knowledge of PC desktop, server and network concepts
  • Strong knowledge of and proficient in use of MS office 2011 suits
  • Knowledge of SharePoint
  • Good communication and impersonal skill with ability to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated with good trouble shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Detail oriented and well organized
