Cambrian Credit Union is seeking a Manager, Wealth & Advisory Services to join our dynamic Wealth Management Team. A key member of the team, the Manager, Wealth & Advisory Services will provide direct leadership of the Wealth & Advisory Services Support team and Wealth Solutions Centre. Responsible for leadership, this role supports recruitment and performance management of department staff that includes timely training and development, completing performance reviews, and coaching. This role is the primary contact for all administration, regulatory and compliance duties with Aviso Wealth. This role creates and maintains an environment that fosters good morale and encourages excellence in all areas within the Wealth & Advisory Services Support & Wealth Solutions Centre teams.
This position supports Cambrian’s Wealth & Advisory Services CIRO (Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization) platforms. Formerly referred to as IIROC and MFDA (Mutual Fund Dealers Association) platforms.
In the role of Manager, Wealth & Advisory Services, you will:
- Direct leadership over Wealth & Advisory Services Support team and Wealth Solution Centre, including recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, department operational leadership with Aviso Wealth and Cambrian departments.
- Lead in preparing all documentation for onboarding / offboarding advisors; with final approval from VP, Wealth & Advisory Services.
- Prepare training plans for all advisors (WSA, FA, SFA) review with VP, Wealth & Advisor Services. Lead and implement all training plans for Wealth & Advisory Services Wealth Solutions Centre and Support team.
- Lead in concert with People and Culture team the recruitment of Wealth & Advisory Services Support team and Wealth Solution Centre. Final approval from VP, Wealth & Advisory Services.
- Deliver timely training and communication within Wealth & Advisory Services team critical to ensure regulatory standards and expectations are maintained.
- Portfolio Management (realignments /new advisors / rebalancing) based on direction from VP, Wealth & Advisory Services.
- Monitor Referral Tracking and provide regular updates to Director, Sales Enablement and VP, Wealth & Advisory Services for follow up and timely execution of pending referrals.
- Provide ongoing training and mentoring with directional guidance to W&A Sales & Support Services Specialists and Wealth Solutions Centre.
- Working collaboratively, you will at times liaise with Aviso and Cambrian teams to provide smooth and timely solutions for more complex processes. (Procedures, OSM, Estates and Compliance teams). The Manager Wealth & Advisory Services will provide daily guidance and mentorship to Wealth Sales Support Specialists as the first contact.
- Lead in Cambrian’s Wealth & Advisory Services Annual KYC compliance program (Aviso Wealth Mutual fund & Investment Divisions). Monitor and hold WSSS accountable to fulfilling & completing proactive investor calls to book KYC/Review meetings.
- Support Wealth & Advisory Services Support team and Wealth Solutions Centre as primary lead in client concerns, with an objective of resolving first contact resolution.
- Provide Wealth Solutions Advisor, Financial Advisor and SFA team support in complex administrative training, ensuring advisors have technical skills in remaining compliant to regulatory requirements (including notes to file proficiencies for new advisors within first 3x months of onboarding; locked-in plans; pension plans).
- Contribute to continuous improvement and operational excellence through identifying and executing on enhancing processes; streamline procedures to support overall Wealth & Advisory Services and member experience.
- Primary lead on all Cambrian compliance and administrative requires (example -UAR requirements)
- Support the Director, Sales Enablement and VP, Wealth & Advisory Services as deemed necessary or as required (e.g. undertake tasks or duties as assigned).
Your Education & Experience:
- Minimum education level of Grade 12 or equivalent, with post-secondary education considered an asset.
- A minimum of three (3) years demonstrated proficiency in retail financial services (including sales leadership) with success in the service of wealth management services.
- Completion of Canadian Securities Course or Investment Funds in Canada in good standing or competing within 12 months.
- Creative thinker/ problem solver, with a client-centered approach and strong drive to continuously improve and add value to the business.
- Ability to work well in an environment with multiple and often changing priorities.
- Critical thinker who analyzes information and uses logic to address issues, problems, and challenges.
