We are seeking to hire a Senior Resource & Exploration Geologist who will will contribute towards advancing two of Canada’s largest undeveloped open-pit gold projects: the Springpole Gold Project in Ontario and the Duparquet Gold Project in Quebec. This hands-on role combines geological expertise, 3D modelling, and program execution with strategic and corporate support. The incumbent will work closely with the District Exploration Geologist, Project Lead Geologists, and Project Geologists to design and implement exploration programs, while supporting the Director of Exploration with strategic planning, reporting, and corporate communications. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned with the Company’s commitments to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence. Operating at a senior level, the role encompasses both hands-on implementation and execution of exploration and resource projects, as well as providing technical insights to support the management and leadership team with decision-making. Location: The preferred location for this role is at First Mining Gold’s head office in Vancouver, British Columbia. However, flexible work arrangements, including remote work within Canada, may be considered for the right candidate. The position will require periodic travel to the Springpole Project in Northwestern Ontario, the Duparquet Project in Quebec. Primary Responsibilities Resource Geology & 3D Modelling Lead the development and continuous refinement of 3D geological and mineralisation models using Leapfrog and related software. Integrate drilling, geological, geochemical, and geophysical datasets into 3D models to improve geological understanding and support resource definition. Support and validate resource estimation workflows, including domain interpretation, wireframing, and data validation alongside Qualified Persons (QPs). Ensure database integrity, QA/QC oversight, and consistency across geological/resource models and technical outputs. Provide geological input to mine planning, infrastructure layout, and technical studies. Exploration Program Design & Execution Serve as primary technical support for the District Exploration Geologist, assisting with planning, coordination, and execution of exploration programs across the portfolio of projects. Collaborate with the exploration team to plan and deliver drilling, mapping, sampling, and other field activities, ensuring safety, quality, and timely completion. Provide day-to-day technical guidance to field teams, integrating exploration and resource objectives. Contribute to drill-hole planning for both exploration and resource conversion, ensuring alignment with short-term and long-term goals. Ensure program execution aligns with corporate objectives and strategic priorities set by Exploration Management. Technical & Strategic Support Assist Exploration Management with developing and implementing exploration strategies, including project prioritisation, budget planning, and technical reviews. Provide geological input for corporate communications, including news releases, investor updates, presentations, and Board materials. Prepare technical reports, 3D visualisations, and presentations summarising geological interpretations, resource updates, and program outcomes. Contribute to NI 43-101 technical documentation and maintain consistency across all technical documentation, reports, and models. Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to management, project teams, and stakeholders. Leadership & Team Collaboration Lead, mentor, and support exploration team members, promoting continuous learning and best practices. Facilitate collaboration between exploration, resource, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration from field data through to resource development. Foster open communication and problem-solving across district and project teams. Cost Stewardship, Compliance & HSE Monitor exploration and resource program budgets to ensure responsible use of resources. Identify opportunities for workflow efficiency, cost optimisation, and continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards. Promote a strong health, safety, and environmental culture, leading by example. Other Duties Perform other geological and technical work as required. Undertake duties reasonably expected of a geologist in a similar role within a public mineral exploration and development company. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geoscience; Master’s preferred. 8–12+ years of combined exploration and resource geology experience, preferably in mineral exploration and development stage projects. Proven expertise in implicit 3D geological modelling (Leapfrog). Experience in resource estimation, wireframing, and drill-hole planning for exploration and development projects. Strong database management and QA/QC experience. Knowledge of NI 43-101 reporting standards and resource documentation. Excellent communication, mentoring, and team collaboration skills. Ability to work in both field and office environments, travel as required.
