Role overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Technical Lead with expertise in Java and Angular to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will drive the technical direction of our projects, collaborating closely with teams from different functions to deliver high-quality software solutions. You will demonstrate your extensive experience in software development and design to implement effective architectural practices, ensuring that our applications are scalable, maintainable, and robust. As a Technical Lead, you will mentor and guide a team of developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our projects, influencing technology choices and engineering practices.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and architecture of complex applications using Java and Angular.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers to enhance their technical skills and productivity.
  • Collaborate with product managers and collaborators to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Review and optimize existing code to improve performance and maintainability.
  • Define coding standards for the development team.
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, coding, testing, and deployment.
What you bring to the role

To excel in this role, you should bring:

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience with Web application, Java, Angular, REST API, Microservices, MQ, Spring framework/Spring Boot, Cloud development
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience with Angular 10+, Java 8, Microservice and Azure/AWS cloud.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-level security concepts and methodologies, including SSO, SSL, encryption, Apigee, authentication and entitlements.
  • Demonstrated leadership/facilitation skills to manage multi-functional development teams applying an Agile methodology.
  • Experience with new/emerging digital business models with banking terminologies.
Working arrangements

We believe hybrid work is the way forward as we strive to provide flexibility wherever possible. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Toronto, ON. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs.
