(Al-Pac) is seeking a Senior Advisor, Health, Safety & Security to work out of our mill site near Athabasca, Alberta. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing Al-Pac HSS standards, plans, and procedures, as well as provincial legislation through inspections, investigations, and education.Who Are We?Al-Pac is the largest single-line kraft pulp producer in North America. Evaluates and coaches team members and contractors on safe working methods and takes appropriate action, including the escalation of serious issues when required.Preparation of reports and documentation in support of the HSS unit.Investigates incidents using Al-Pac investigation methodology, tools and techniques and provides advice on complex problems.Conducts inspections/assessments and audits in compliance with Al-Pac standards and guidelines.Provides support to internal and external stakeholders on HSS standards, plans and procedures.Works across internal teams to provide up to date and relevant HSS information to the organization. Investigates and resolves issues in an expedient, fair and transparent manner.Role RequirementsUniversity Degree in a related field or an equivalency of a related two-year diploma required.NCSO, CRST or CRSP designation preferred.5+ years working knowledge of Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code required in a similar role.A valid class 5 drivers’ license is required.Experience in manufacturing setting an asset.Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.OtherAptitude with HSS related technology and applications, including Microsoft suit.Ability to prioritize multiple assignments.Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
