Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Service Attendant to join our team at Denny's Fort St John. As a Food Service Attendant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring the efficient operation of our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a high level of hygiene and safety.
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and ensure they are properly sanitized.
  • Portion and wrap food items, and prepare simple food items as needed.
  • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables, and take orders in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars, and maintain a well-organized and clean storage area.
  • Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs, and wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced environment with a high level of activity and pressure.
  • Physically demanding, requiring standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads.
  • Repetitive tasks and attention to detail are essential for this role.

Requirements:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and multitask.
  • Positive attitude and excellent communication skills.
