Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Jewellery Artisan and Watchmaker to join our team at Master Fine Jewellers. This is a permanent position working 30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean all parts using special cleaning solutions and ultrasonic or mechanical cleaning machines
  • Fabricate or fit parts to make watches and clocks
  • Instruct apprentices in the art of jewellery repair and watchmaking
  • Perform repairs and adjustments on watches and clocks, including testing, adjusting, and regulating timepiece movements
  • Appraise gemstones and diamonds to identify rare specimens and detect peculiarity affecting stone values
  • Examine, cut, shape, and polish diamonds and precious and synthetic gems
  • Fabricate and repair precious and semi-precious metal jewellery
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in the field of jewellery repair and watchmaking
  • 20/20 vision and ability to distinguish between colours
  • Hand-eye co-ordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Judgement and accurate decision-making skills
  • Excellent oral communication and client focus skills
About the Role:

This role offers a competitive salary of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience. You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of high-quality materials and tools, and to develop your skills and expertise in the field of jewellery repair and watchmaking.
