Job Summary

The Corporation of the Town of Ajax is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Road Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Roads Operations and Maintenance department, you will be responsible for performing various road maintenance duties, including operating heavy equipment, inspecting infrastructure, and responding to winter events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled inspections of roadways and Town infrastructure to ensure compliance with the Ontario Minimum Maintenance Standards.
  • Operate various types of road maintenance equipment, including snowplows, graders, and sweepers.
  • Respond to winter events, including snowstorms and freezing rain, to ensure safe and efficient road maintenance.
  • Conduct repairs to infrastructure, including pothole patching, roadside debris collection, and ditching.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents and visitors, responding to inquiries and concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
Requirements
  • Secondary School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in roadway construction or municipal roadway maintenance.
  • Valid Ontario Class DZ Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
