Administrative Support Specialist for Mental Health Services

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Administrative Support Specialist to join our team at BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services. The successful candidate will provide high-quality administrative support, including transcription services, reception duties, and data entry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe medical dictation accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely completion of reports and correspondence.
- Provide exceptional reception services, responding to inquiries, directing calls, and greeting clients and visitors.
- Process referrals and enter client data into computer systems, adhering to established procedures.
- Maintain client charts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
- Perform scheduling and event tracking tasks, monitoring deadlines and appointment dates.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent, with a minimum of one year of recent experience in medical transcription or a related field.
- Ability to keyboard at 60 wpm, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with relevant software programs and equipment, including electronic calendars and typing logs.
- A commitment to upholding the principles of reconciliation and addressing Indigenous-specific racism.
