Job Summary:
As a Retail Butcher at VG Meats, you will play a crucial role in assisting our Butcher team by cutting and producing various products as required.
To succeed in this role, you should have previous experience in butchery, be highly skilled with various butchery equipment, and possess a strong meat aptitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Slaughter livestock using stunning devices and knives.
- Skin, clean, and trim carcasses.
- Remove viscera and other inedible parts from carcasses.
- Split carcasses into smaller portions for easier handling.
- Cut beef, lamb, pork, or veal carcasses into primal cuts for further processing or packaging.
- Remove bones from meat.
- Cut meat and poultry into specific cuts for institutional, commercial, or wholesale use.
- Remove skin, excess fat, bruises, or other blemishes from carcasses or meat portions.
Requirements:
- Completion of secondary school may be required.
- On-the-job training is provided.
