Strategic Actuary Role in Pension Consulting

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled actuary to join our team as a Principal within our Defined Benefits and Actuarial Services practice. This role will involve leveraging your broad business acumen, along with your deep understanding of the pension landscape, to develop strategic long-term plans for our clients' defined benefits pension schemes.

About the Role

  • Leverage your expertise to provide high-quality actuarial consulting services to clients, addressing complex business challenges while growing the practice within your region.
  • Promote TELUS Health's market leadership position by identifying new business opportunities and driving revenue growth through effective client relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative solutions for clients' pension plan needs, ensuring optimal outcomes and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive business growth, leveraging your knowledge of the pension industry and its trends.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in pension plan consulting, preferably with a professional actuarial designation (FCIA, ASA, or FSA).
  • Solid understanding of pension schemes and actuarial standards of practice within both public and private sectors, including risk assessment, financial projections, and pension plan evaluation.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, financial markets, and emerging trends related to the pension industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent communication abilities to convey complex concepts to clients and stakeholders.

Educational Requirements:

  • A degree in Actuarial Science or a related field, such as Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics.

Salary and Benefits:

We offer an estimated annual salary of $120,000 - $160,000, depending on your level of experience and qualifications. You will also be entitled to a comprehensive benefits package, including health and wellness programs, retirement planning support, and opportunities for professional development.

Location:

The ideal candidate will be based in one of our Canadian offices, specifically in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Toronto, Ontario, or Fredericton, New Brunswick.
