**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Wesdome Gold Mines. As a key member of our health and safety department, you will be responsible for maintaining a visible presence in the field, coaching and mentoring employees on HS&E programs, and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and standards.

**About You:**

  • You have a strong background in occupational health and safety, preferably with a degree, diploma, or certificate from CRSP.
  • You have experience working in a health and safety position, with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
  • You possess excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • You are able to work independently and as part of a team.

**Responsibilities:**

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a visible presence in the field to provide support to the mine and mill.
  • Assist in the coaching, mentoring, and implementation of HS&E programs in the field with all employees at all levels.
  • Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable legislation and standards to ensure compliance.
  • Audit the Safety Management System for compliance and update it to ensure alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and resources to all managers, supervisors, foremen, and peers within the health & safety department.
  • Participate and assist supervisors, foremen, and JHSC in the investigation of incidents to determine root cause and concrete corrective actions.
  • Develop toolbox talks, safety meetings, and other materials as required.
  • Present health and safety topics in group settings.
  • Conduct site safety inspections, planned inspections, track, and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist the training department as needed.
  • Designated Employer Representative.
  • Site/underground inductions.
