Social Services Coordinator

Adams Lake Indian Band is seeking a dedicated Social Development Director to join our team. This full-time position reports directly to the Senior Wellness Officer (SWO) and requires close collaboration with various departments, including Stsmemelt, Child & Family Director, and Education Department.
About the RoleThis dynamic role involves applying, managing, updating, and maintaining ALIB community services provided through income assistance. Key responsibilities include performing duties in accordance with Adams Lake Indian Band policies and procedures; adhering to ISC policy and procedures manual for income assistance programs; and maintaining accurate income assistance files as per ISC guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure all reporting requirements are met, including monthly reports to the SWO and senior management;
- Assist clients with social assistance applications as needed, verifying information according to applicable policies;
- Refer clients to Education, Social Worker, or other professionals and provide necessary support;
- Manage the Department Budget in conjunction with the Senior Wellness Officer;
- Submit quarterly reports to ISC and senior leadership as required;
- Plan and support community activities as appropriate.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A Band Social Development certificate or willingness to obtain;
- A degree in a related field, preferably;
- Previous office administration or income assistance experience, preferred;
- Proven ability to manage budgets, including planning and reporting;
- Strong computer skills using Ms. Office software, including Excel and Outlook;
- The ability to work at a computer with extended periods of sitting.
This role is primarily performed within an office setting, with occasional travel required.
Equipment and SoftwareYou will have access to Microsoft Office Suite – Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as other software as required.

The estimated salary for this role is between $34-$40 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
