About the Role

BDC Advisory Services is seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Advisory Services team, you will be responsible for generating new business and nurturing relationships with existing BDC clients.

You will use your strong business development and sales skills to build and nurture your own portfolio of new clients, applying your business acumen to identify new opportunities and propose advisory solutions to address client needs.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will generate impact and support BDC's commitment to making Canadian entrepreneurs the most competitive in the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective customers through digital and in-person techniques.
  • Manage business development activities to maintain and nurture a solid pipeline of opportunities.
  • Identify and recommend the right BDC advisory solution using strategic questioning and diagnostic tools.
  • Develop a growing role as the client's go-to person for general business advice.
  • Manage and maintain excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in professional consultative B2B business development or owning and operating a successful business with revenues over 5M.
  • Successful experience dealing with entrepreneurs and C-suite executives.
  • Strong business development and sales skills.
  • Ability to motivate people and achieve individual and team goals.
  • Passion for supporting private companies in the local community and helping Canadian entrepreneurs become the most competitive in the world.
