Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Applications Architect to design and implement high-quality, scalable application architectures in compliance with Government of Ontario IT Standards. This role involves ensuring integration across systems, and leading technical solutions in a large, distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Define the structure and relationship among applications, including the identification of re-usable components, quality level metrics, the organization and layering of software, and the determination of interfaces.
- Develop, implement and manage at least one cross-platform application in a large and distributed environment, monitor the whole system, understand all interactions between components on a given level of abstraction, as well as to define limitations and requirements for source code.
- Define the interactions between application packages, databases and middleware systems.

Requirements
- Ability to support and conduct options analysis according to OPS directives and Government of Ontario – IT Standards (GO-ITS)
- Has experience decomposing and composing requirements to develop solution options using a composable and modular architecture approach
- Assess and analyze business strategy, business requirements, current state environment and technology choices to evaluate solution alternatives
- Conduct cost and benefit analyses and feasibility studies, create briefing notes, and provide recommendations
- To provide expertise and leadership and information technology (IT) architecture in a number of the following domains: business, technology, applications, security and/or information and includes enterprise architecture frameworks, strategies, and methodologies.
