Job Summary

The Cancer Clinic Receptionist provides a variety of clerical and patient-related activities, including scheduling and booking patient appointments, processing referrals, and maintaining databases and records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and book patient appointments using a computerized scheduling system
  • Register patients upon arrival, ensuring patient demographics and information are complete and accurate
  • Perform referral functions, including data entry and processing related paperwork
  • Provide clerical functions, such as faxing, photocopying, and typing material
  • Maintain departmental equipment, supplies, and filing systems

Requirements

  • Grade 12 and two years of recent experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to keyboard 45 wpm and knowledge of medical terminology
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to organize work and operate related equipment
