Lead Chef Job Description

The lead chef is responsible for overseeing the culinary team and providing high-quality meals throughout the ski program. This role requires a passion for food service and creating memorable experiences for guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the quality and training of culinary staff.
  • Plan and facilitate meetings to coordinate menus with team members.
  • Complete food orders, inventory controls and food rotations to minimize wastage.
  • Lead food preparation according to standards of quality, quantity, taste and presentation.
  • Ensure the regular cleaning and upkeep of the kitchen area.
  • Work with the lodge manager to create a high-quality, efficient and team-oriented environment.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or certificate in a culinary program.
  • Red Seal Chef or equivalent preferred.
  • Food Safe Certification.
  • 5 years of culinary experience with varied exposure.
  • 2+ years' experience in menu planning and execution.

Working Conditions: This job is in a remote area of British Columbia and requires the ability to lift, carry or otherwise move and position up to 50 pounds regularly. Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment is also required. This position will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays based on the needs of the business.
