Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Worker to join our team at The Salvation Army Hamilton Booth Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to our residents, ensuring their safety and well-being in a positive and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients seeking admission, ensuring their behavior meets our established standards.
  • Complete client intake forms, updating records as necessary, and register clients, assigning beds and providing essential items.
  • Provide meal tickets or prepared lunches, adhering to approved procedures, and conduct regular security rounds of the facility, checking for any potential hazards.
  • Record incidents and activities during shifts, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to our policies and procedures.
  • Answer phone calls, providing direction and support to inquirers, and maintain the cleanliness of the front desk area.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, carrying out tasks assigned, and demonstrating knowledge of our policies and procedures manual.
  • Engage in regular supervision and evaluation sessions, meeting with the Program Manager as scheduled.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Post-secondary education preferred, or a combination of education and related life experience.
  • Possess current WHMIS, First Aid, and CPR certificates.
  • Competent in computer equipment, including Windows, Microsoft Office, and HIFIS.
Working Conditions

This is a permanent part-time position, requiring flexibility in scheduling. The work schedule will be determined in consultation with your supervisor, with applicable shifts including a 30-minute paid meal break.

Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays, with the potential to work with clients who may exhibit challenging behavior.
