Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist
Job Summary:
The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for the assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Speech and Language Pathology intervention, in accordance with professional standards.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Responsible for the assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans.
Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team as needed.
Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
Other Responsibilities:
Maintains active standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
Participates in ongoing internal and/or external education activities.
Adheres to Bayshore ICSP policies and procedures.

Job Qualifications:
Education:
Masters degree or recognized equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology. Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
Experience:
Preference of three years providing Speech-Language Pathology services. Experience completing in-home assessments and treatments; knowledge of auto insurance and legal system is an asset, particularly medical/ legal report writing.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Enjoy working with clients of all ages in multiple treatment environments. Strong communication (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills. Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective and consistent manner. Ability to work independently and to effectively collaborate with a team. Demonstrate basic knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency with secure email. Commitment to continued learning. Valid driver's license.
Standards of Performance:
The Speech-Language Pathologist must demonstrate ongoing competency in completing all duties and responsibilities of this job description, in response to changes by the regulating body, as well as agreed-upon specific goals and objectives.
