About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Global Payroll Tax Specialist to join our team at KPMG Canada. As a key member of our global mobility team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll remittances for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize and plan the expatriate payroll compliance needs of clients, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery.
  • Process and/or review the full cycle processing of multiple, medium to high complexity client payrolls, utilizing your expertise to identify and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Prepare payroll gross-up tax calculations, conducting thorough research and analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct and present payroll tax research, providing valuable insights and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide payroll tax advisory services on various topics, including non-resident certification, withholding waivers, taxable benefits, and more.
  • Liaise with government departments on behalf of clients, ensuring effective communication and resolution of any issues that may arise.
  • Ensure all paperwork and remittances are completed accurately and on time, maintaining the highest level of quality and attention to detail.
  • Produce and/or review year-end tax form production for all payroll compliance, ensuring compliance with Federal, Provincial, and other regulations.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities, staying up-to-date on the latest developments and best practices in payroll tax compliance.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in expatriate payroll, with a strong understanding of Canadian payroll regulations and compliance.
  • Year-end experience with tax form production, CRA, and MRQ, with a proven track record of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of legislation governing payroll in Canada, including Federal, Provincial, and other regulations.
  • Dedication and motivation to achieve high standards of client service and professionalism, with a strong sense of organization and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Accurate data entry skills and intermediate PC computing experience, with a strong understanding of MS Office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to work independently or in a team environment.
