Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Terminal Equipment Specialist to join our team at CP. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of various terminal equipment, including shunt trucks, forklifts, and trailers.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate terminal equipment, including shunt trucks, forklifts, and trailers, to support train loading operations.
- Host containers and chassis within the terminal to ensure efficient train loading.
- Perform pre-tripping of perishable intermodal containers and build electric reefer container sets on railcars.
- Conduct visual inspections and report on damages and defects of intermodal equipment.
- Prepare railcars for loading by placing pedestals and spacers.
- Assist in securing containers once loaded to railcars.
- Update systems as required after completing work.
Requirements
- High School Graduation or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Advanced reading and writing skills, including the ability to follow written instructions and training.
- Strong safety mindset and ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
