Lead Logistics Team Member (Morning Shift)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Supervisor to lead our morning shift team at Metro Supply Chain. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong leadership, operational management, and customer service skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the morning shift, including health and safety, operational performance, customer relations, continuous improvement, and people development.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Schedule labour requirements to meet production goals within budgeted costs.
  • Conduct daily briefings to ensure effective communication with team members.
  • Assign and follow up on tasks to ensure efficient completion.
  • Ensure order sequences are prioritized for timely shipment and delivery.
  • Hold team members accountable for quality standards and client satisfaction.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental performance using key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Approve labour hours and maintain accurate records for payroll and cost allocation.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to employees, and handle disciplinary situations as needed.
  • Maintain close interaction with customers to develop strong relationships and assess service requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Fulfill supervisory duties under occupational health and safety laws.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A College Diploma in Business Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong leadership, operational management, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
