Job Summary

B & M HYDRAULICS INC is seeking a skilled Welder - Fabrication and Repair Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our fabrication department, you will be responsible for welding, cutting, and assembling metal parts and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret welding process specifications and operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment.
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals, and processes.
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment and fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal.
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC) and hoisting and lifting equipment.
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing, and soldering equipment.
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads.
  • Attention to detail and hand-eye co-ordination.
  • Standing for extended periods and handling weights over 45 kg (100 lbs).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Custom fabrication and factory assembly experience.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques, including resistance, spot, or seam, oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG).
  • Experience with arc welding machines, brazing machines, and other equipment.
