Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Project Manager to join our team in Eastern Canada. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in geotechnical engineering and project management to work on dams, reservoirs, dykes, spillways, and hydropower projects.

About the Role

In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical support to senior geotechnical engineers in developing cost-effective, practical geotechnical engineering designs and construction solutions for clients. You will supervise field staff working on fieldwork and testing, including borehole drilling, construction site review, and instrumentation installation and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Planning and Execution: Focus on the technical planning and execution of geotechnical services related to dams and hydropower projects across Canada.
  • Field Work Supervision: Supervise field staff working on field work and testing which may include borehole drilling, construction site review, and instrumentation installation and monitoring.
  • Instrumentation Installation and Operation: Install and operate instrumentation including piezometers, inclinometers, and other geotechnical instruments.
  • Geotechnical Investigations Management: Support management of geotechnical investigations, including field coordination with subcontractors, preparation of laboratory testing schedule, documentation of results, and budget management.
  • Engineering Design and Assessment: Support engineering design and assessment of geological and/or geotechnical systems involving slope stability and settlement analysis, internal erosion assessment, monitoring programs, and others.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Civil/Geological Engineering from a recognized university. Post-graduate degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in geotechnical engineering is required.
  • Credentials: Professional Engineer in good standing with provincial association or the ability to obtain the professional designation.
