SAN Storage Administrator

Location: Montreal, QC
Hours: 9am - 6pm
This position is for a mid/senior level storage administrator with expertise in SAN and NAS environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with EMC SAN products, including Pure Storage, Brocade FC switch, PMAX, VMAX, Isilon, Data Domain, and ECS.
- Expertise in PMAX provisioning process using solution enabler CLI
- Expertise in SAN migration using SRDF
- Day-to-day administration of Pure Storage and Isilon technologies
- Monitoring use and availability of storage resources
- Troubleshooting storage-related issues and taking appropriate actions
- Generating reports and analysis on storage usage
- Possessing skills and knowledge related to network, operating systems, Storage Area Network (SAN), and enterprise management software solutions
- Installing and configuring new and existing storage devices and corresponding software
- Defining and adhering to service level agreements with end-users regarding storage allocations, limitations, and availability
- Allocating storage to end-users and development teams based on established departmental requirements and available disk space
- Analyzing storage equipment performance, collecting information, and preparing summary reports
- Responding to and resolving storage access and retrieval issues
- Coordinating with vendor support to handle hardware failures and performance troubleshooting
- Providing off-hours and weekend remote support
- Technical Skill Set:
- HW: PMAX, AFF/FAS filers, Brocade SAN switches, IBM tape library, Pure storage, IBM COS
- SW: EMC Unisphere, Ontap, OnCommand, DFM, CMNE Netbackup/TSM (preferred not necessary)
- OS: RHEL, Windows, VmWare, AIX, Linux
- Must have a strong background in SAN administration, including PMAX, Storage Provisioning process, Zonning, Solution Enabler, SRDF, Clones, Unisphere, Performance Manager, PowerPath, FAST, Thin Provisioning, RAID, SAN troubleshooting, and breakfix ability, Performance troubleshooting, VmWare connectivity.
- Deep knowledge of Pure Storage administration is also required.
- Hands-on knowledge of Brocade SAN switches, CMCNE is required.
- Scripting knowledge in Python or Perl is desired.
