Business Development Manager

The Opportunity:
Sunwing Vacations is seeking a Business Development Manager to join our team in making vacation dreams come true. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for effectively managing our assigned territory to ensure maximum sales and developments are obtained by making sales calls to retail travel agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned territory to maximize sales and developments through sales calls to retail travel agencies.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned areas.
- Collaborate with travel agencies to find business opportunities, promotions, and advertising.
- Provide timely and accurate market intelligence to the company.
- Represent the company at trade and consumer shows, as well as other promotional events as required.
- Develop and implement training and development programs for retail agents, including delivering quality presentations at events.
- Escorting and leading promotional familiarization trips to Sunwing destinations.
Requirements:
- At least three to five years of experience in the travel industry.
- Proven sales experience with exceptional customer service skills.
- Post-secondary education in a business-related discipline and/or previous travel industry experience required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively in a team environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and availability for frequent travel within the assigned territory.
