About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Professional to join our team at EPCOR Water Services in Edmonton, AB. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for leading the entire procurement process from identification of need through to contract execution and supplier relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to achieve optimal results against Supply Chain Management performance metrics.
  • Lead the procurement process, ensuring compliance with company policies, trade agreements, and procurement best practices.
  • Facilitate negotiations and serve as the negotiation representative for assigned procurements.
  • Prepare contract documents, coordinate award of contracts, and make recommendations to stakeholders on whether to award or not to award contracts.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and contracts, facilitating contract review sessions between internal customers and suppliers.
  • Analyze data to determine the feasibility and advantage of establishing long-term supply contracts for high-usage, high-dollar-volume products.
  • Assess competition and market opportunities/threats and recommend plans to address.
  • Develop recommendations to optimize overall cost, delivery, and quality for assigned procurement portfolio.

Requirements

  • TWO-year post-secondary diploma or four-year post-secondary degree in Supply Chain Management or a business-related field (Operations Management, Economics, Accounting, Finance, etc.) from a recognized educational institute is required.
  • Minimum 4 years' extensive experience in category-based buying and negotiating contracts or directly related experience within the field.
  • Purchasing Designation (SCMP, C.P.M., or C.P.P.O.) considered an asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in public procurement processes, awareness of relevant trade agreements, negotiating commercial terms and conditions, competitive bidding laws, risk management tools, vendor management tools, interpreting purchasing policy, processes, and procedures.

  • A competitive salary of approximately $93,000 per year, based on a starting wage of $45.74 per hour and 75 hours biweekly.
