Electrical Designer/Engineer-in-Training Position in Richmond

The Junior Electrical Designer/EIT will report to the Electrical Engineering Manager and collaborate with other electrical designers and engineers. This position requires a good understanding of technical design and project management skills, as well as being a self-starter with excellent decision-making abilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing electrical engineering feasibility studies for building lighting/power/fire alarm systems under senior engineer supervision
- Preparing project documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and estimates
- Preparation of system layouts, details, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and building schedules
- Loading, lighting, voltage drop, and fault calculations
- Conducting site surveys and inspections
- Completion of ad-hoc tasks assigned by direct supervisor/manager
We are seeking a highly skilled candidate with:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 1-3 years of experience in lighting, power, fire alarm, communication, security, A/V, and PA system design
- Familiarity with industry standards, such as CEC, BCBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA, ULC, NEMA, TIA/EIA, IEEE, etc.
- Proficiency in Auto CAD, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Experience in project management and coordination
- Exceptional communication and organization skills
- EIT or P. Eng. registration in BC is preferred
