Job Summary

DCT Chambers Trucking Ltd is seeking a skilled Truck Driver to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across the country in a tractor-trailer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mountain Driving Expertise: Navigate challenging mountain routes with ease and precision.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional professionalism in customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all stakeholders.
  • Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Pre-Trip, En-Route, and Post-Trip Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and compliant with regulations.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent mechanical issues and ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Communication: Effectively receive and relay information to central dispatch, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Cargo Management: Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, maintaining accurate records.
  • Cargo Security: Ensure the safety and security of cargo through proper tarping and handling practices.
Requirements
  • Air Brakes Endorsement: Possess a valid Air Brakes Endorsement.
  • Driver's License: Hold a valid Class 1 or A Driver's License.
  • Tractor-Trailer Experience: Have experience operating tractor-trailers, including B trains.
  • Communication Systems: Be proficient in using Citizens Band (CB) radio, GPS, and other navigation equipment.
  • Security and Safety: Possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Personal Suitability: Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, oral communication, flexibility, judgment, organization, reliability, and teamwork.
