Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Healthcare Coordinator to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving patients to clinic/unit and ensuring accurate documentation
  • Acting as a communication link for the unit, answering telephone calls and forwarding messages
  • Obtaining, assembling, and maintaining charts
  • Transcribing physicians' orders
  • Scheduling appointments/tests for patients and obtaining test results
  • Performing various tasks for the care and comfort of patients
  • Maintaining clinic/unit supplies and compiling statistical information

Requirements:

  • Previous related work experience preferred
  • Current hospital-based information systems/programs; scheduling systems/programs preferred
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards
  • Successful completion of a recognized Unit Clerk training program required
  • Medical terminology (75% pass mark) required
