About the Role:

CIMT College is seeking a highly skilled Academic Guidance Specialist to join our team. As an Academic Guidance Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend educational conferences and workshops to stay updated on best practices in academic guidance.
  • Supervise teaching assistants to ensure they are providing high-quality support to students.
  • Counsel students on educational, career, and vocational issues, as well as personal and social issues.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, administrators, and community agencies to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Coordinate the provision of counseling and information services to students, parents, and teachers.
  • Administer and interpret standardized intelligence, aptitude, and interest tests to help students make informed decisions about their academic and career paths.
  • Refer students to other specialized services when required.
  • Participate in staff meetings, educational conferences, and workshops to stay connected with colleagues and stay updated on best practices.
  • Develop guidance and counseling programs to support students in achieving their academic and personal goals.
  • Arrange for recruitment of graduating students by employers to help students transition into the workforce.
  • Supervise peer counseling programs to provide students with opportunities to develop their counseling skills.
  • Supervise field experience for graduate students in clinical and counseling areas to provide them with hands-on experience.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, and symposia to share knowledge and best practices with colleagues.

Requirements:

  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English as the primary language of work.
  • 30 to 40 hours of work per week.
