About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced French Language Project Manager to join our team at Localizationacademy. As a key member of our localization team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and consistency of our French language products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Language Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of language content within our French products, ensuring precision and cultural alignment, spanning both the Canadian and French markets.
  • Collaboration with External Service Providers: Collaborate with the appropriate External Service Providers (OSPs), aiming to have editing and localization tasks performed in-country when possible.
  • Cultural Alignment: Cultivate a uniform tone, personality, and cultural essence across language markets, specifically in France and Canada.
  • Style Guide Management: Act as the custodian of the in-market style guide, providing guidance and consistency within the language family.
  • Terminology Management: Manage the in-market terminology and translation resources for the language family, fostering precision and coherence.
  • Linguistic Excellence: Propel linguistic excellence throughout the language family by engaging with our translation vendors.
  • Linguistic Training: Facilitate linguistic training for vendors and offer continuous feedback to improve translation quality.
  • Linguistic Anomalies: Lead efforts in resolving linguistic anomalies through OSP and internal workflows, with a focus on addressing international language issues that affect local customer experiences.
  • Customer Feedback: Integrate customer feedback and insights ('follow-me-home' approach) into the holistic business and linguistic strategy within the language family.
  • Team Collaboration: Provide substantial support to cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and customer success, ensuring their language requirements are met.
  • Feedback Dissemination: Disseminate valuable feedback on localized content to pertinent teams, enriching the overall quality of the customer experience.
  • Localization Education: Educate local teams on the intricacies of the localization and translation process.
  • Design Collaboration: Collaborate with design teams to ensure coherence of tone and terminology throughout the product.
  • Review Process: Oversee the review process within the language family, adhering to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality benchmarks.
  • Team Management: Manage third-party teams, ensuring alignment with priorities, processes, and deadlines.
  • Process Optimization: Collaborate closely with the Localization Manager to enhance and optimize processes, identifying opportunities for scaling within localization workflows and external systems.
Requirements
  • Language Proficiency: Native-level proficiency in one of the languages within the language family.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in language management and language quality assurance.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in linguistics or translation; master's degree is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Language Fluency: Exceptional written and verbal fluency in English is required.
  • Translation Tools: Familiarity with translation tools such as Phrase, WorldServer, and Trados.
  • SAAS Knowledge: Bonus points for knowledge of SAAS software, accounting terminology, and practices.
