Manufacturing Food Industry Team Leader

Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to join our manufacturing facility in Gladstone Plant, Toronto CA. The Team Leader will be responsible for overseeing a team of production workers engaged in various aspects of food production, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining strict adherence to food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of production workers to achieve daily production targets and objectives.
- Collaborate with production management to develop daily production schedules and allocate resources efficiently to meet production goals.
- Ensure that all production processes adhere to food safety and quality standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).
- Train new team members on production procedures, safety protocols, and quality standards. Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements. Implement best practices to enhance productivity and reduce production costs.
- Address production issues in a timely manner, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration within the team and across departments. Communicate production goals, expectations, and updates effectively to team members and management.
- Enforce safety regulations and ensure that all team members follow proper safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, inventory records, and quality control documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality assurance, maintenance, and logistics, to ensure smooth production operations and timely delivery of products.
- Minimum one (1) year of proven experience in a leadership role within the food manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of production processes and quality standards.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, sound decisions in a fast-paced environment and provide communications and coaching skills with strong attention to detail.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Bachelor's degree in food science, engineering, or related field preferred.
Knowledge of food safety regulations, including GMP, HACCP, and FDA guidelines.
Proficiency in MS Excel and other Microsoft Office tools.
Work ScheduleContinental Shift. Flexibility to work different shifts. (days, nights and/or Weekends shift).
