About the Role

The temporary Associate Director will focus on curriculum development projects and report to the Executive Director, Academic Planning and Strategic Projects. Their primary responsibility will be to lead curriculum development and manage and support instructional design of non-credit, online courses and programs housed within Continuing Studies in Lifelong Learning. They will provide coaching, feedback and writing support to subject matter experts in the development of learning outcomes and objectives, content, applied activities, assessments, course materials, and rubrics, and will ensure alignment. They can expect to collaborate as a member of a team and use LL's curriculum and instructional design principles and guidelines to create high-quality courses. They will ensure projects are completed on time and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum development projects and manage instructional design teams.
  • Develop and implement curriculum design principles and guidelines.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to subject matter experts.
  • Ensure alignment of curriculum with institutional goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with teams to create high-quality courses.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Four years of related experience in areas such as conceptualizing, planning, designing, and initiating discipline-related curriculum.
  • Excellent knowledge of program development and curriculum design.
  • Ability to oversee a team of external contractors involved with the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of courses and programs.
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to provide support in the design and implementation of strategies that promote diversity, inclusion and equity.
